"Mason NO!"

If you have ever been around me you probably hear this come out of my mouth every 5 seconds! "Mason NO!" I try to protect my child in every way possible. I have put child locks on the doors.....he knows how to open them.....I put covers on the outlets.....he knows how to take them off. I try to keep things out of reach.....he knows how to pull up a chair. So I say to you.....what do I do? I asked my pediatrician this same question.....he stated "I don't have these kind of problems with my two year old." I have asked the speech therapist "just redirect him." Well, she later found out that you can't redirect my child. My mom often states that my child is the only grand kid out of 30 that she can not distract from a screaming rampage. I tell you....I have the smartest and funniest kid but, when he is naughty he is very, very naughty! He has definitely given me a run for my money! Mom thanks for cursing me. I always hoped by marrying Jared I would get a calm, sweet child......well let's just say, he is just like me. The reason for this rambling is because as many times as you tell mason "no" he still will not listen! Well, I came home tonight with tears in his eyes and Jared stating that he will not ever mess with outlets again! YEP! He did! He shocked himself.....black finger and ALL! What oh what do I do?

Wow, I don't know what to tell you. I'm sure I'll be needing advice on little boys in the next while. I hope his finger is okay.

Wow. That's a tough one. My three year old is especially disobedient when he's tired... but that's normal. I have to over-do it with the positive reinforcement most days..."Thank you for not hanging on the fridge door" Wow, what a great helper you are" "Thanks for not hitting your brother"... to the point where I sound like a broken record. It seems to help though. With the two second attention span they have, it makes sense I guess. I giggle a little though, imagining a boy version of you! I also tell my son he's lucky he's cute...

I am so not good at kid advice, sorry! But I feel bad that he shocked himself! Maybe he wont go near them anymore now that he know what can happen???
