potty training!

Okay.....so call me crazy but I decided to potty train mason. Yeah I know he young but I know he is smart enough to understand. I also wanted to get him to do it before his diaper became a security blanket and he understood that it was just easier for me to change him. Well, it WAS going really well. He would pee and poop just fine on the toilet! He still had a few accidents but he is learning. It is just hard because I just have to put him on the toilet every few hours. He was really good about knowing when he was going to poop and would hop up on the toilet and go! I was so excited! Well, three days ago he started holding it in and then eventually pooping in the tub which he hasn't done in like FOREVER. SO, I thought this was a fluke. Now he won't poop on the toilet! I don't know why! I have tried rewards but he doesn't even care about them. I can shout praises from the roof tops and he REALLY doesn't care. My child just doesn't really react to things like that. So, what do I do? I tell ya! I am starting to think I made a mistake but, I know if ya start it there is NO going back. So, I am ready to give up but, he has done really well going pee on the potty today. If only I had a toilet like the nursery! He does so well on that toilet! He just LOVES it. I would too....everything is just his size. How can I get him excited about this great accomplishment. I guess it is because all of my friends have girls and they are having such an easy time! Anyone have potty training secrets? Don't suggest a doll....he hated it...."ewww,eww." He hated the fact that it pees he thought it was "gross." BLAH!
