A loss..
Jared woke up in the middle of the night with severe ear pain. He saw two Dr's that stated they don't know how but he has perforated his ear drum. After 2 weeks of being completely deaf in one ear his Dr got concerned and had him referred to an ENT. Long story short he ended up seeing two ENT's that both told him their was no perforation and they are not sure why he was deaf. They said his hearing was none existent and it would never repair itself. They also told him nothing could be done to restore his hearing or fix it. Jared has been very upset with this diagnosis. He plays the cello and has thousands of dollars in music. We are grateful that he still has hearing one ear but it is really frustrating for him. In social situations Jared has an extremely hard time hearing and often gets bad anxiety. I know with time he will get used to it but hard to think this is his life from now on. A miracle happened and we were able to see the top ear surgeon in AZ to get more answers about his problem. This Dr. was able to provide Jared some hope with the ability to place an implant in his head to reroute sound into the other ear. We are also doing an MRI to see where all the fluid and blood came from that the other Dr's saw. Even though this has been hard we are grateful it is not his eyes or hands. We pray that a miracle will come about and that his hearing will be restored. My family has a genetic hearing disorder where we can eventually go deaf. My brother saw this ear surgeon and had surgery on both ears so his hearing could be restored...so maybe Jared and I will grow deaf together. I guess it gives us a new opportunity to learn a new language.:)

Nichole i hope a miracol does happen. we will keep jared in our prayers.
Oh! Send my best wishes to Jared. My hubby Brian has had two ear surgeries in the last 6 months to try to restore some of his hearing loss - of course we knew the cause of it and it was only partial hearing loss in one ear... I saw how the toll it took on my hubby, so my heart goes out to you and Jared!!
